A few words of introduction:

Welcome to my IJ. I'm LdyBastet.

I write many different things: romance, dark stuff, incest, underage, bdsm, fluff... So, if you're reading one of my stories, please first read the headers and warnings before clicking on the link or cut. I do try to warn for anything that might be controversial, disturbing, or a turn-off for people. (The warnings can also be seen as advertising for those who like exactly those things. *g*)

Earlier, I have written stories in LotR, Dracula, and HP fandom. My new fandoms, that result in fic, are Loveless and Bleach. Other things I squee about is Torchwood, Gundam 00, Death Note, Kyou Kara Maou, and Fuurin Kazan. There'll also be the occasional post about Dr Who, and whatever new shiny thing I find interesting :-)

Post of random

Random 1: After the last chapter of Bleach, I read some comments in a comm, about how tired the commenters were of Bleach only focusing on fights... My immediate thought was "LOL!" because... well, Bleach is a shounen manga, what do they expect? Romance??? Personally, I like all the fights, even though I'd like to see more shinigami action, more Byakuya and Renji, and back to HM to see what's happening with Ichigo and Ishida... but even without that, I think Bleach is an awesome shounen manga! Also, Hisagi Shuuhei is pure sex, and I want to ship him with his zanpakutou.

Random 2: I think I am probably the only person on the internet (or just in fandom) who is not ever getting sucked into TV Tropes. No, I'm not linking to it because people keep saying they lose hours whenever they click a link to that site. I have no idea how, because if I'm linked there, I read the page the link went to, and then I close the window, with no desire to click any of the in-text links to other entries on the site. Yeah, I'm apparently weird. I know.

Random 3: I am ded and empty of energy after working all weekend on guiding typically stressed and thought-buzzing Western minds into contemplation of childhood events in chronological order, and then helping them handle the stuff they've come to realise in that contemplation. My batteries are sooooo empty! This introvert is finding it difficult to even look at people today... and despite that, I went into town with mum today to go shopping. I needed to buy something that can work as a pyjamas, because...

Random 4: Upcoming Friday-Saturday is the first of the weekend courses on the blood coagulation analysis I'm going to work with in the future. Not exactly looking forward to this. Trying not to think too much about it, because it's in a completely new place, in a town I've never been before, with people I don't know, etc. If I think too much, I'll start panicing, and that would take too much energy, energy I don't have atm. I'll freak out later. ;)

Random 5: Need to work on this writing exercise thingie again!

Random 6: I managed to get my Kink Bingo line done before the deadline! Yay! Sadly, there was no Ukitake/Shuuhei fic this year. But, I have many ideas for the rest of the squares on the card, so I'll keep writing on it. :) There might still be some UkiShuu! I miss writing them.

FIC: Crouching Dare, Hidden Luck [Gakuen Heaven; "everyone"/Keita; NC-17]

Title: Crouching Dare, Hidden Luck

Catching up on things past, also: last weekend.

This will be a bit of a catching up-post.

My family was here to celebrate my bday (now a long time ago) )

Then I got a package in the mail )

This past weekend, I was away with my mum, visiting her best friend (my almost-aunt, because she's been around since I was just a kid), and we just took it easy and did some touristing in areas around the town. The sun was really insistent, so I was glad I'd packed my sun screen or I would have been baked and burnt to a crisp! First day, the day we arrived, we went to the town where my mum and her friend grew up (and where I spent my first few years alive too), to look at places they remembered and see if anything could be recognisable... iIt was sort of neat to see these old streets and old houses again. Places where we'd lived, the house where my father lived when he was still alive, my great-grandparents' old home, etc.

More weekend travel )

As for my health... The change in diet hasn't helped me lose weight (but I'm not surprised, since most of it is due to water retention anyway), but cutting out almost all carbs (except what's in vegetables) and eating much more protein has given me more energy and I feel less depressed. Yay!

Yesterday, I spoke to a person a know a little, the owner of one of our health stores in town, and she mentioned her own water retention problem and said hers had become much better after her meds were adjusted... Which led to us talking about how I've fought for twenty years with my weight, with water retention, how no one believes me when I tell them I can gain 4-5 kgs in two days because that's impossible (yeah, if you think it's fat, it *is* impossible!), how tired and exhausted I always am... And she was shocked to hear that no one has ever taken me seriously when I've asked about my thyroid and that I wasn't already on medication for it. So... now I need to find myself a physician to demand to get that damn blood test done. Urgh. Am not fond of tests.

But if it really is that, and I can get help? OMG! So good! This constant struggle against my own body and fighting so hard to get the tiniest of results, the constant tiredness that I have to fight against that can make me almost cry when someone asks me if I can do this or that... if that can get better? I'll be so happy!!! :)

Sundries. Also, I'm away Fri-Sun!

It's hot here. Seems like we got summer back, finally, after all the rain. :)

The last few days, I've been spending time on my balcony, under a parasol, with a drink on the table, occupying myself with some writing (using pen and paper, since I have no laptop), or reading about male-male sex in Tokugawa Japan. I've also returned to my Japanese studies. Yay! The writing includes one more kink bingo fic (first draft almost done, apart from ending) and a crack-fic that I totally blame on [info]misumaru and [info]vayshti. *g*

Wow, written out like that it sounds almost as if I've been productive! o.o

I'm going to be out of town from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. This is my last week of vacation time, so it's nice to finally be doing something with it, rather than just spending it at home, like any other slow week... My parents have been away several times (short trips), but I always end up stuck at home, since I have really nowhere to go, can't afford to go anywhere, and no one to go with. Mmm, solitude. ;) It can get too much at times. So, I'll be visiting old home town. With mum. We're visiting her best friend, who's more like an aunt to me, I've known her for that long. We're going to distract her as best as we can now that she's buried her SO... :( I'll try to check my email regularly while I'm gone, but I might be rather gone from LJ-land.

And to hop to something completely different: OMG! I love Hisagi Shuuhei!!!! And I love Kuchiki Byakuya and Abarai Renji!!! In case you didn't know? :D So much love. No post is complete without Bleach-related squee, right? *g* Also, Taniyama Kishou is sex on legs. Mmmhmm.

Better update/more detailed and hopefully interesting post later. Don't break the internets while I'm away! Although, others seem to break it just fine on their own... Stupid DOS attacks.

The good, the bad, and the WTF! Also, writing.

Today has been both good and bad.

First me and parents and brother + co-worker/friend Elle went to one of the castles that are close by to have a last look at it and walk around inside before the city council sells it and everything inside it is scattered and gone forever into various collections and storage...

Castle stuff )

But we had a good time, and it was nice that my brother tagged along. He's been bad at keeping in touch with us for a long time. Anyway, after castle tour, we had a picnic outside and just ate and had fun.

On the way home, though, my mum got a phone call from my granmother. Her little dog, a Papillon, had just been attacked by a German Shepherd and with one big crunch, bitten to death! Just like 30 minutes before she called. They'd been out taking a walk along the harbour, walked well past a place where a lot of cars were parked, and suddenly, from behind, this dog ran up after them and just attacked.

Police is now involved, of course, but damn! :( That dog was Gran's everything after my grandfather died earlier this year and then she got diagnosed with colon cancer... :( :( :( What a terrible shock for her! Argh! Why can't people train their dogs properly??? This one just jumped out of the car when the door was opened and chased after them, with intent to kill. O.o WTF! (My mum is a dog trainer, so I know a bit about how to train dogs, and believe me, a LOT of people do it wrong!!! Argh!)

I've been distracting myself after I got home by finishing the Gakuen Heaven bukkake fic. Lets' just say that writing bukkake is messy. And there's six "he" and "him" people in it! A six-some... oh dear. Perfect for pronoun confusion.

How did I do with the goal of 50 000 words during July? Um. Not so good. I ended up with 6131 words. That's not even close!

Thanks for the suggestions in the "You shuld write..." meme. I'm actually thinking about one or two of them... So, keep them coming! (You can find links in my previous post.)

The "You Should Write..." Meme!

... because I'm not already behind on comments and shit, right? ;)

Not promising I'll actually write anything people suggest, but I am curious to see what you'll say. *g*

Cliché exchange!!! Yes? Yes! :)

My very good friend [info]nishi_shinji has developed a sudden love for slash cliché-fics, and so had the brilliant idea to have a multi-fandom cliché-fic exchange!!! :) I also know that there are a few people on my flist who also find clichés much fun to work with. At the start now, you have the opportunity to go nominate fandoms that you'd like to write/recieve fics for! But please note that it's best that you only nominate a fandom if you actually intend to participate, otherwise she'll end up with fandoms on the list with one writer/artist and no one to pair them up with.

Hurry over to cliche_xchange and nominate fandoms that you'd like to see in this exchange in this post. Nominations end on August 15th!

Rules and full schedule can be found on the community's profile here!

Signups will start on September 1st! And because there'll be signups, there will also be a chance to ask for exactly the kind of cliché scenario you'd like to see in a fic written for you! (Not just a one word prompt that may or may not make sense as a cliché depending on whether you're active in the fandom where it's considered to be a cliché *cough*) And you don't have to do five or more stories either... :) Just one. Unless you also decide to sign up as a pinch writer/artist. (I have a feeling a few of those will be needed as well.)

So, run over and nominate the fandoms you'd like to participate with in the exchange!!! :D

And if you want to see just how sweet and cute a fic can be for a cliché, here, have a link to an "Awwwww!"-inducing ByaRen story she's written:
Left Unsaid (PG, Summary: "What were you going to say?")

It really is Friday evening... The Internet is almost dead. *g* I guess people have real life things to do, but it's interesting because it's the same every week. I think this is a hint that I should get one of those as well. Real life things to do, I mean. ;)

I spent most of today tidying and cleaning, because people are coming over tomorrow to eat cake. Found a gluten-free one, but not the one I really wanted - I wanted the dark chocolate one and they only had the caramel... ah well. Will serve it with whipped cream with strawberries in it.

Other than that, I've spent the last two days editing fic and sending it back over and over to my poor beta-reader. LOL I think she's read it four or five times now. She's a hero, I tell you! And I plan to inflict more on her. :D I've also been watching a few eps of Kamen Rider AgitΩ via MegaVideo since I so don't want to risk being fined over downloading something like that! *g* It's ... entertaining. It's not good, but it's better than I feared. And since I am one of those people who actually enjoy Gojira in all its Japanese incarnations (let's mostly forget the US remake, okay?) I find this quite charming. :)

Have started two new fics for the kink bingo... One of them not for the line I started with the Corda fic, but I liked the idea. But while I was soaking in a lukewarm bath earlier today (yeah, it's warm and muggy here, I did not need a hot bath), I finally got the beginning of the facial fic I wanted to write for Gakuen Heaven. So that will be the second new fandom I write in for this bingo card! O.o I dunno. I used to be shy about new fandoms... then again, I'm not planning on crossposting in fandom specific comms.

Also, yay Granrodeo! \o/

Birthday report! :)

Birthday was survived! *g* And I don't actually feel older; it's just that pesky little number that's gone up. Sadly, I don't feel any wiser either which last night's emo proved.

The ex and his gf was here for coffee. She'd baked a gluten-free rhubarb pie which we ate with lots of custard, and it was so yummy. This means that I have the entire mint chocolate cake/tarte I bought all to myself now. :D As I suspected, I got a sex-related present from them. Not a sex toy this time, but some lingerie... But also a bottle of vodka, a broach and a pair of earrings.

Before my parents hurried off on their vacation thingie with their friends, mum came over for about 30 minutes to give me a little present and have a quick cup of coffee. I took advantage of this time to 1. remind her who Taniyama Kishô is by showing her a piece of the Corda dvd I'd already shown her, 2. show her a Corda live event with a snippet of Taniyama reading from the script and then singing Aqua Blue, 3. show her the beginning of the Granrodeo Rodeo Delight concert dvd.

The result: she's hooked on Granrodeo, wants a cd with them, and thinks Taniyama is super hot. She loved the heavy bass going on in their music. I like my mum lots. :D She said if we could, ever in the future, she'd jump the chance to see them in concert too. *g* Now we just need to get rich. ;)

(She also shuddered violently at Fukyama Jun's clothes and his awful singing. *g*)

Thank you so much everybody for the birthday wishes!!! *hugs* I've had so many comments and personal messages from people, some of you I don't even know who you are! (And one of you I couldn't reply to because of your settings for messages.) If I've missed any birthday greetings, please poke me!

Thank you to [info]viverra_libro for a year's paid LJ time! *hugs* This means LJ won't get rid of me for a while yet! LOL It also made my icon space go up with 4 empty slots! Yay! :)
[info]thepinkrabbit made a funny comic gif that I've watched over and over, with Renji bringing flowers to Byakuya on his bday. *g* Awesome.

The lovely and talented [info]nishi_shinji wrote me a fabulous ByaRen story!!! *bounces* It has all the things I love about these two men, and you won't even have to get into the dreaded "OMG, who is going to top" battle when reading this, despite being NC-17! *g* It has a lovely dark and sad theme as a backdrop, and their relationship evolves gradually. So good! Very romantic. Go read it if you're in need of good ByaRen!!! Oh, and please tell her she rocks, if you enjoyed it, because she could use a little confidence boost! :)

Title: Doraji
Authors: [info]nishi_shinji
Characters: Byakuya/Renji
Rating: NC-17
Summary: Their entire lives were contradictions of definition.

On Saturday, I'll have friends and family over for coffee, because then they'll all be at home again. So, there will be more loot then! :D

Jul. 20th, 2009

Oh noes!

Okay... In one hour or so, I'll get one year older... It's weird. I've decided to do my birthdays backwards from now on because really! The number of years doesn't reflect how I feel and probably act too most of the time.

No one is at home this year, as my parents could only arrange for a vacation thingie together with their friends *this* particular week. Stupid schedules, but what can you do? So, I've invited people over for Saturday instead. Did I say no one is at home? No one that I actually want here, I meant. My ex and his gf will come over tomorrow afternoon for coffee, though, but... like I said, no one I actually want here. I'm not comfortable with them, so I'm not exactly going out of my way to spend time with them. They invited themselves over this time. Like they did the last time they were here. O.o

Today has been filled with headache. Not exactly my fav pasttime. But I did find some songs by Taniyama on esnips that I didn't have before so yay! :D I also found a few with Ishikawa Hideo. Tried to find the one by Itou Kentarou that [info]misumaru is looking for, but no luck. Headache stopped me from looking more.

Sewing project is done-ish. It needs ironing now. And if I can find the fabric I need in my stash, there is a small extra part to be made as well. If I can't find a suitable fabric now, I'll pack what's done and send it off. :)

Writing is... Those 50 000 words I was aiming for this month? Hahahahahahaa! Ahahahhahaha! *gigglesnort* Yeah. *wipes eyes* I have just under 3200 now. So. Um, not going to meet that goal! ;)

Not sure what's up. I feel as if I could write but that it doesn't really matter if I do or not. I think that since I don't feel like writing is as important as chocolate breathing, I'm not *really* a writer. ;) Ah well. Maybe the need to write or tell these stories will come back soon. Could be that I'm still working through the crappy phase where I couldn't make the words to match the story in my head at all, and it'll get better later. :)

There was something else I actually intended to write about, but I lost it in the rambling and age-fear.

Jul. 11th, 2009

That BBC show everyone is talking about...

No, not Merlin. You'll never see me talk about that ever again. Torchwood.

FIC: A Day Less Boring [Kin'iro no Corda: Yunoki/Hihara; R]

Title: A Day Less Boring
Author: [info]ldybastet
Fandom/Pairing: Kin'iro no Corda (La Corda D'Oro) - Yunoki/Hihara
Rating: R
Summary: Yunoki finds something that gives him an outlet for his frustration at always having to play the kind, gentle and smiling guy that the girls flock admiringly around. If his victim enjoys it or not is a different question.
Content: Dub-con (coercion), genital torture. (It's a really light form of torture though, more like 'pain and definite discomfort'.)
Disclaimer: The characters and setting of Kin'iro no Corda don't belong to me. This is an attempt at transformative work, trying to add a new expression to these characters. No money is earned. No people, either real or fictional, were hurt in the writing of this story.
Notes: 1343 words. Written for my Kink Bingo card; my prompt was genital torture. Beta by the person who lured me into this fandom, [info]misumaru. ♥

Wheeeeeee! :D

OMG! I just received a package from [info]nishi_shinji, the one that's been waltzing around the world and got stuck in customs and whatnot, since Christmas. And I am completely stunned.

Among all the wonderful things she sent me - Bleach notebook, necklace, body care kit with beeswax products, lovely incense sticks, letters, manga, books (Pullman: His Dark Materials), and more - she also gave me a very special book. It's especially for me and contains the most important and poignant moments in the lives of Byakuya and Renji, as written and RP'd by the two of us! And it's awesome and gorgeous and lovely, and I am sniffling here, because damn! I'd never imagined, and seen like this, in print, even my words look pretty good! ;) I've read it twice now and it really does tell their love story in those few pages. To me, at least, since I have so many memories attached to this. *happy flail*

Yes, I am so going to show it to my mother. :D

Jun. 27th, 2009

After the weeks of rain and cold we had up to and beyond midsummer, we've now had heat and sunshine. And let me tell you, we are not used to that in this country! The heat is killing me! And houses in this country don't have A/C. If we're lucky, we have windows we can open at opposite ends of our flats/houses, but that's it.

This heat makes me headachy and very tired. I was planning to write, but it's been slow going. Also, after this week's Bleach episode, it's been hard to write too, because spoilers )

Speaking of fic... Going through notes and docs and memories on my LJ, I found a fic that I wrote for some kind of challenge on Pornish Pixies, but never posted to LJ or IJ that I can see. I didn't find this one when I went through all my fic posts for reposting in my fic journal, so... I really do think I never posted this outside of PP. I've been debating whether I should just post it to the fic journal or post it here as well...

So, because of this, you might see HP fic within a day or two, but it won't be a newly written one, just never posted here. And that's going to feel weird. I still have a lot of people n my flist who seems to be active in HP, so maybe someone will even read it. *g*

In the mail today, I got...

... a soft and cuddly plushie Byakuya!!! :D

Well, actually he looks really grumpy and unimpressed (like Byakuya tends to do), but I keep squishing him in the hopes that he'll cheer up! LOL

Thank you so much, [info]thepinkrabbit!!! He's adorable! ♥

So, my mother had a birthday party...

Or rather, we threw her a party a few days early, because otherwise it would have been far too close to the Midsummer festivities. Everyone are busy then.

We'd planned and planned and looked for places to go, trying to come up with something we knew she would enjoy and that wouldn't be too difficult for people to go to... Our co-worker/friend Elle helped out lots with this. She's a darling these days.

Anyway, she found a castle that none of us had been to that was only about an hour's drive away, so we decided on a picnic. In hindsight, perhaps that wasn't so smart, but we didn't know THEN that it would be raining for three weeks straight! It usually never rains that much for that long before Midsummer! *sigh* Ah well. Ooops. ;) Maybe our planning a picnic with 12 or 14 people is what caused the torrential rains we've had? Usually that's better than any kind of raindance have ever been: plan a picnic, wash the car or the windows, or hang out the laundry to dry outside. Guarantees rain. Not even having brought plenty of umbrellas managed to counter the power of the picnic-magic.

But before we packed everyone into cars, we gathered at my parents' place, toasted her in Champagne and she received a few of her present then (a portrait of one of her dogs, for instance, and a huge patio warmer thingie...). She had no idea where we were going, of course, but she was really happy with the place. Unfortunately, opening presents hadn't been on the schedule before leaving, so we had a late start and missed the only guided tour of the castle for the day. This, of course, means we'll have to go back later this summer. *g*

The closer we got to the castle the more it rained. :( But everyone were in good spirits as we started to unload picnic baskets and things to spread out on the tables and chairs that were provided for crazy people like us next to the café. But one of the staff there felt sorry for us and came out to tell us to get our butts inside and up the stairs where we could sit all of us at one looooong table.

Food was had, and wine for those not driving, and Elle had made a chocolate truffle tarte decorated with strawberries too. Incredibly yummy. I have no idea how she managed all of it, because she was the one making the potato salad and the sliced chicken filets for six people as well. She's been a heroine!

I have to say that I think my mother got everything that she'd put on her gift list. *g* As well as a few other things she could never have imagined. But she's totally worth it!

So... picture time of some stuff I made for her!

Cut for pictures )

Ukitake is a naughty instigator!

I... um... what?

Here I sat, late morning, thinking a little about what I could do with a section of writing that I have that hasn't really fitted in anywhere. I closed my eyes and began speculating about what kind of background would be needed for this particular scenario to play out. And then I just got this image in my mind, and then Ukitake-taichou peeked in on it too (in my head), and I had the perfect beginning... and Ukitake insisted on more screen-time, and that led perfectly to the discarded scene... and then forward and onward. To an ending.

So, before my mum showed up I started typing away at an outline of what I'd just "seen", and almost finished it by the time she showed up for lunch. The outline is super-long for me: 1200 words! Of outline! Okay, it's scattered with snippets of dialogue too. But still! O.o

Have finished it now. And I guess I'll start writing on it tomorrow. :)

To think that I had planned that the first Kink Bingo fic was going to be the Tattoo one with Hisagi/Renji. Hah! Ah well. I do have a ridiculous 230 words written for that, with about 249 bare words of outline after that. Um. It's slow going for something that seemed to be so natural to write about.

**

I've had a nice lunch of leftovers with mum. *g* Then we took a walk with her dogs, had coffee when we returned, and then she helped me colour the outgrowth of my hair. Apparently she doesn't want to be seen with me all grey and two-coloured (three, counting the grey) at the restaurant tonight. LOL We're going out to eat for the first time in ages. It's silly-expensive to go out here. But we're doing it as part of the celebration of her birthday. On Saturday, we'll have the real "party" for her with presents and stuff.

**

Went to P.O. yesterday to send a package to LA. Hope it doesn't disappear on the way there. *keeps fingers crossed*

I've managed to put up almost all my HP fic now on the journal on DW! There are a few left that I posted way late on my journal because I had forgotten to post them before I left the fandom. I managed to remember the LotR fic that I never posted under my own name, because after two years of beta-fail where everyone I sent it dropped out of fandom before they'd beta-read it I was rather certain it was cursed in some way. LOL

If anyone on my flist who doesn't already have an account on Dreamwidth would like to try it out and see if it's a place you'd like without having to pay for it, I have three codes to give away.

If you just want to follow people on Dreamwidth and make comments (to fic or regular posts), you can just log in via OpenID, no account necessary. But then you can't make any posts yourself.

And speaking of Dreamwidth... I get all dizzy from all the copy/pasting and posting of fic on the fic journal. There's a lot to keep trace of - tagging, linking between posts, making a counter for each posts and putting that in, and then remembering to not unnecessarily go into the page and be counted myself... LOL And then, when I realise that yes, I really do need a tag for this, because it's the second time this thing or person shows up in a fic, I have to go through the backlog and find that other time and tag that post too... It never ends. ;)

133 entries so far. Scarily enough, 116 of those are for HP. O.o And I'm only on December 2006! I'll need to look into how to put a header banner into the layout there... because it feels strange and naked without one. *g*

Just got a reminder from LJ that my paid account as well as extra userpics expire soon. :( Have to remember to do something about that.

O.O I... OMG! Thank you, [info]imma for the paid time for both account and userpics!!! ♥ ♥ ♥ *hugs tightly* Thank you honey! :)

I have reached 100 posts/stories up on my new DW fic repository here. 100! And I'm just through to June 2006! Man, I've head some very productive periods in my short writing life. :D

Can I somehow import that productivity to now, instead?

One thing that's happened is that I have a tiny little sliver of interest in finishing not only the Dracula series I started, but also the one with Lucius and Blaise and Draco... But I don't know if that will happen. It was a surprise to me to even consider it, though, so I thought it was worth mentioning. ;)

I decided to put icons on posts according to fandom. This means five specific fandom icons and one for general fandom use. I have one for LotR, one for HP, one for Loveless, and one for Bleach... The last specific fandom, I'm not sure about. But I have started thinking maybe I should have a general slash icon with, you know, a photo of male men... and one for general slash anime/manga use? But then I have no idea how to get the latter done. Or what to use for it. Is there any animated multi-anime/manga fandom icons out there?

Next ByaRen chapter is written! The draft anyway. *g* It needs edits and beta and more edits. And a title!

Anyway, now I shall celebrate 100 posts up (ow, my wrists!) by having coffee! :)
